چکیده

Carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) laminates are featured by superior mechanical properties and excellent structural functions, which have been a promising alternative to conventional alloys steels in diverse industrial fields. Mechanical drilling is compulsory operation shape fibrous composites desired workpiece quality target dimensional accuracy. Progressive tool wear an extremely crucial issue when CFRPs as it may result undesired machining consequences such increased force generation, elevated temperatures, deteriorated surface quality. Despite great endeavors already made address the issues, complete review of phenomena for CFRP still significantly lacking. The present paper aims report key research advances aspects CFRPs. phenomena, modes, failure mechanisms carefully reviewed. effects progression on various outputs laminates, forces, cutting attributes, discussed. A particular focus placed quantification assessment during Some prospects both academia industry outlined. intends offer comprehensive understanding controlling laminates.

Tool Effects on Hybrid Laminates Drilling

Fibre reinforced plastics are increasing their importance as one of the most interesting groups of material on account of their low weight, high strength and stiffness. To obtain good quality holes, it is important to identify the type of material, ply stacking sequence and fibre orientation. In this paper, the drilling of quasi-isotropic hybrid carbon+glass/epoxy plates is analyzed. Two commer...

“a Study of Tool Wear in Turning of Pure Aluminum and Drilling of Cfrp /ti

Tool wear in turning of pure aluminum and drilling of carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP)/titanium (Ti) stacks was investigated due to their importance in modern manufacturing. Although pure aluminum is a ductile metal while CFRP contains brittle carbon fibers, there exist also few important similarities which impact tool wear. For instance, neither work material contains inclusions harder ...

Drilling Process of Composite Laminates – a Tool Based Analysis

The distinctive characteristics of carbon fibre reinforced plastics, like low weight or high specific strength, had broadened their use to new fields. In order to join different components by using bolts, rivets or screws, one of the machining operations needed in composite structures is drilling. Usually, it is accepted that drilling can be carried out using conventional tools and machinery wi...

Drilling tool geometry evaluation for reinforced composite laminates

In this work, a comparative study on different drill point geometries and feed rate for composite laminates drilling is presented. For this goal, thrust force monitoring during drilling, hole wall roughness measurement and delamination extension assessment after drilling is accomplished. Delamination is evaluated using enhanced radiography combined with a dedicated computational platform that i...
